Breitling Navitimer 01 46mm Limited Edition Review
Breitling Navitimer 01 46mm Limited Edition
In December 2016, Breitling announced a new limited edition Navitimer 01. The Navitimer was first introduced in 1952, and it’s been an icon in the watch community ever since. This version is no different with its immediately recognizable dial and circular aviation slide rule.
Compared to previous Breitling Navitimer’s, this version is 3mm larger in diameter. Although this may not seem like much, this new size offers quite a bit for Breitling fans. The larger size is a statement timepiece that will inspire comments from your comrades, and it also provides better readability for both the dial and the aviation slide rule.
This model retained the classic “look” of the Navitimer with its chronograph, date window, and bidirectional rotating bezel with circular slide rule. This slide rule is especially useful for pilots to make calculations such as fuel consumption, distance traveled, and rate of climb/descent. It also includes a transparent sapphire crystal back, so you have a sneak peek into the self-winding mechanical movement. This Breitling 01 manufacture movement is chronometer certified, can hold a 70-hour power reserve, and includes 47 jewels.
This watch comes in steel with a Panamerican black dial, hollowed-out brown sub-dials, and a brown inner bezel. The hands and winged Breitling logo at 12 o’clock are gold-toned, and the central chronograph and sweep-seconds hands are bright red. The Breitling Navitimer 01 46mm Limited Edition is available on a steel bracelet, two types of leather straps, or a rubber Navitimer strap.
This model is limited to 1,000 timepieces, and it costs 9,720 USD.
