Hublot Big Bang Unico Sapphire Review
Hublot Big Bang Unico Sapphire Review
If you’re looking for a timepiece that will inspire conversation, then this Hublot Big Bang Unico Sapphire watch may be for you. But if you’d rather have a timepiece that is easy to read with a classic, understated design, then move along.
With an all-sapphire case, this Hublot Big Bang UNICO Sapphire is definitely unique. Hublot’s primary mission was to create the complete opposite of the Hublot Big Bang Unico All-Black, and they’ve accomplished that with a clear watch. However, the transparent elements don’t just stop with the case, this sapphire watch also has transparent hands, a transparent sapphire case back, and a transparent rubber strap. Titanium is used for the smaller elements, including the screws, crown, and deployant buckle.
As for the movement, it’s an automatic Hublot caliber HUB 1242 UNICO flyback chronograph movement, and it’s made entirely in-house. Additionally, this watch can run on 72 hours of power reserve. If you’re a fan of skeleton dials, then you’ll especially love that you can view the movement from both the front and the back.
Compared to other all-sapphire watches, these watch is a steal at only $57,900. However, it’s a limited edition watch with only 500 timepieces available for sale.
This may be one of 2016s most controversial watches. Some strongly dislike the watch while others rave about its technical accomplishments. What do you think? Would you purchase this all-sapphire watch?
